AST assists Iscor in controlling tactical information

The AST Group, in conjunction with Iscor Flat Steel Product`s Information Management department, has implemented the Brio Performance Suite of Business intelligence tools for Iscor Flat Steel Products, for deployment within its Vanderbijlpark Works. The deployment is across the Windows 2000 environment running off an Oracle database platform.

In conjunction with AST Enterprise Solutions Management and AST Vaal Triangle, Iscor Flat Steel Products have completed an across the board deployment of the Brio Performance Suite of business intelligence tools to assist Iscor Flat Steel Products in controlling its tactical information needs for its Production and Planning environment.

"The Iscor Flat Steel Products Brio Performance suite reporting and analysis solution accommodates the highest level of responsiveness to trends and facilitates access to the latest available data utilising the Brio On-Demand Server for the on demand distribution of Web-based reports," explains Andrew Cook, Manager Business Intelligence at AST ESM.

Coupled with Brio Insight, Iscor managers will be able to access the Web through the Brio Portal and analyse data on an ad-hoc basis, as well as access third-party and line of business applications through a single point of access. With the utilisation of the Brio Query Designer, Power Users will be able to manipulate and analyse data from various data sources to meet the requirements defined by materials management business within Iscor.

The Brio components implemented include Brio Insight for real-time Web-enabled reporting and analysis, The Brio On Demand Server for the on demand distribution of Web-based reports and Web-based publishing purposes, The Brio Designer for OLAP administration, Brio Query Explorer for enterprise reporting and analysis and the Brio Enterprise Portal for secure, ease of use, information delivery, to the Iscor user base.

The project is in process of implementation and will be completed by mid-December 2001.
