AST Enterprise Solutions has announced that Brio Software has launched a detailed strategy and product roadmap focused on extending the value of business intelligence.
AST Enterprise Solutions, a business unit of the AST Group, is a distributor for Brio Software in Southern Africa. "The new performance initiative will provide our clients with a powerful suite of business performance tools and applications that align organisation-wide objectives with resources across the enterprise," explains Andrew Cook, GM of Decision Support Services at AST Enterprise Solutions.
"As more organisations deploy a variety of applications to streamline relationships both inside the enterprise and outside the firewall, they are faced with an ever-increasing amount of raw data captured from ERP (enterprise resource planning), CRM (customer relationship management), SCM (supply chain management) and e-commerce systems," adds Cook. "Brio`s business performance initiative is designed to extend the value from these systems, by helping companies get a complete, unified view of information that improves business processes and informs rather than inundates users."
AST Enterprise Solutions is focused on improving cross-functional business performance problems for its enterprise clients and is uniquely suited to drive an organisation`s business performance through their business intelligence strengths and Brio Software`s ability to access virtually every enterprise information source.
To deliver on extending the value of business intelligence, Brio has announced its plans to introduce the successor to its Brio Impact product, the Brio Performance Builder. The Brio Performance Builder will serve as the foundation for a complete set of next-generation business performance applications, called Brio Performance Applications. Brio Performance Builder will provide a platform for deploying applications that provide actionable insight that can be measured against a clear set of key performance indicators, enabling a company to align objectives with resources, across the organisation, to improve business performance.
By combining Brio`s history of delivering powerful business intelligence tools with a clear set of key performance indicators, Brio Performance Builder is uniquely positioned to deliver the next generation of business intelligence applications to help customers maximise value from their future and existing information systems investments.
"When providing organisations with business intelligence applications, it is important to ensure they are accessible and applicable to the needs of every user," concludes Cook. "Business intelligence platforms should be considered a strategic component of an enterprise`s infrastructure rather than a set of tactical tools."
In just three years the AST Group has established itself as one of the leading information and communication technology (ICT) companies on the JSE Securities Exchange. Its consistent creation of value for shareholders, clients and employees has resulted in a steady increase in monthly revenue to the R100 million plus mark. AST is now the fourth largest South African IT company by market capitalisation, and is one of the top three in terms of physical infrastructure (mainframes, servers, desktops, and networks under management) and geographical footprint with over 62 physical locations.
Counting almost 90% of the top 100 JSE-listed companies among its clients, the AST Group services mostly large corporate and government clients, but is increasingly offering services to rapidly evolving small and medium enterprises.
