AST enters alliance with UK project management company

The AST IT Consulting Academy, a division of AST IT Solutions and a leader in the delivery of project management training, has entered into an alliance with UK-based Benchmark Training & Development to provide training on PRINCE2. In addition to project management training, AST IT Consulting Academy also specialises in project administration training and the transfer of project facilitation skills.

PRINCE2 is a structured project management method widely used in the public and private sectors in the UK, in the European Union and other the Commonwealth countries. It is the recommended approach to all major projects within the UK government and is built around a series of best practice processes.

"Most central and local government departments use PRINCE2 and many are insisting that any contractors or companies bidding for their projects use only this project management methodology. The method is also increasingly being adopted by commercial organisations within the UK," explains Jenny Fysh of AST IT Consulting Academy.

"It will therefore be necessary for SA-based companies and IT contractors, who are looking to compete for overseas for contracts, particularly in the UK, to comply with these requirements by becoming skilled in PRINCE2," adds Fysh.

AST IT Consulting Academy has also recently joined CompTIA as Cornerstone Member, and is the preferred training vendor for CompTIA IT Project + in SA.
