Astra reaches new heights

Johannesburg, , 07 Jul 2000

Mercury Interactive has announced the immediate availability of Astra LoadTest 4 and Astra QuickTest 4 Web testing tool, following the adoption of the products` recently announced beta versions.

The new features available in Astra 4 address the expanding requirements for Web site testing while maintaining the products` ease-of-use as a fast, simple web testing solution.

In addition, Mercury Interactive has introduced a Web-based training program for LoadTest 4, designed to introduce and Web developers and QA teams on how to conduct successful load tests by providing convenient training scenarios online, with the first Web-based training session is available for free.

New Web-based training for Astra LoadTest gives users an around-the-clock, on-demand interactive tool to increase productivity. Astra LoadTest customers can now register for Web-based training at: www.mercuryinteractive.com/training/online. Once registered, users can attend their first of three training sessions, "Astra LoadTest Overview," for free.

Astra QuickTest 4.0 also offers full integration with Mercury Interactive`s TestDirector, a test management tool that allows users to and store all of their tests in a central repository.

"The world of e-Health does not allow for old-school testing methodologies. Web sites and the data that drives them are in a constant state of flux and customers expect changes in real time," said Claire Caudry, who heads up Services Quality Assurance efforts for US GeoAccess.

"Astra QuickTest 4.0 gives us the ability to create regression test suites that can easily handle dynamic data, and allow all of our staff access to tests using a central repository. We can quickly validate our clients` managed healthcare sites, even as the provider data behind a site is changing."
