AstuteHR has concluded its implementation programme for HR administration at leading manufacturing company, 3M South Africa.
The company has recently outsourced its human resources administration and payroll function to AstuteHR, an affiliate of the listed AST Group. The five-year contract also included the implementation of the SAP Payroll application on an ASP basis and AstuteHR`s bespoke -developed employee and manager self-service solution, EmployEase, for 3M.
In addition to HR administration, foreign and local employee payroll functions, the scope of the contract involves the full implementation, hosting and maintenance of the applications on AstuteHR`s infrastructure and allows 3M to utilise the full SAP HR functionality to support its business processes.
"The outsourcing and re-engineering of a non-core, strategic function, such as HR administration and payroll, will allow 3M to leverage AstuteHR`s expertise in HR processes and technologies, increase reliability and quality of information and reduce the costs of maintaining state-of-the-art practices and systems," explains Sam Mkhabela, General Manager of Human Resources at 3M. "The implementation process has been smooth and user adoption enthusiastic, and we are confident that we would achieve the desired outcomes."

AstuteHR has deployed EmployEase to relieve 3M line managers of a significant part of their administrative burden, and empower them and employees with easy access to HR information and the ability to process HR transactions on-line. Furthermore, the AstuteHR SAP HR template application reduces the total cost of ownership of SAP for 3M by means of pre-configured templates, a 24x7 shared IT service centre for hosting, connectivity and specialised SAP application support and consumption-based service and software licence arrangements.
