At a recent dealer appreciation evening, hosted by Sahara Computers and ASUS, the companies announced two new ASUS motherboards. The ASUS P4S333 and P4S533 will be locally available in May.
Says Atul Gupta, MD of Sahara Computers: "Pentium 4 is a key technology for this quarter, thus offering these new motherboards to our channel we ensure their access to up-to-date, stable technology. "
With these releases, ASUS fills the void for a high performance P4 DDR board in their repertoire. Using the SIS 645 chipset, the P4S333 offers adequate memory bandwidth in streaming applications, while the P4S533 provides a built-in LAN as well as a voice diagnostic which will audibly identify system problems. This product features 533MHz Frontside Bus (FSB).
Speaking at the event, the Vice President of ASUS, Jonathan Tsang said that in an ever-changing market, partnerships are the only way of achieving success. He added that ASUS is firmly committed to the South African market. "The channel that Sahara offers us, allows ASUS to strengthen its position in the sub-Saharan market."
Local ASUS representative, Richard Watters, says that since appointing Sahara as official distributor almost two years ago, local ASUS marketshare has grown significantly. "Sahara is a competitive company that has access to an aggressive channel. We certainly regard them as the most prominent partner for our future in the local market."
