Asus laptops share resources
At this year's CES in Las Vegas, Asus took the wraps off a number of new products, such as a touch-screen netbook with a swivel hinge, a redesigned Eee PC keyboard, and a 12-inch netbook with a 512GB solid-state hard drive, according to TechWorld.
But Asus is showing off more than just products. The company also displayed a clever concept - laptops that can share resources with other close-by laptops. Asus calls the concept "Fold/Unfold".
Using this technology, two notebooks placed close together are able to share resources such as the processor and memory.
Dell reveals MacBook Air killer
With the MacBook Air, Apple proved that if you build it, they will come, and just about everyone else did the same with the netbook. So Dell has chosen to kick off the new year with a daring new entry in each of those categories, says apc magazine.
The high-spec Inspiron Mini 10 netbook boasts multitouch, inbuilt GPS, 3G and even a digital TV tuner, while the slim Adamo takes on the MacBook Air.
The company has invested heavily on its R&D team in the past two years in an effort to move beyond box-builder status and sell more into the high-margin PC segment.
