ASYST International has upgraded the financial software of Dowding, Reynard & Associates (DRA), an international project management and minerals plant design and engineering company. DRA has upgraded from the Access Accounts mid-range solution, Horizons, to Dimensions, the flagship product running on Microsoft SQL 2000.
"When we purchased Horizons in 2000, the main deciding factor was the flexibility and functionality of the Job Costing module," said Anne Scotting, Accountant of DRA. "When you`re as busy as we are, any recapturing, or duplication of effort, is a waste of resources. Having a fully integrated contract costing system, that is transaction auditable, has made our accounts department that much more efficient, and gives the project managers the information that they need far more quickly than we were able to in the past.
"The fact that Access Accounts has proven to be so scaleable is an added advantage," continues Scotting. "In upgrading to Dimensions on Microsoft SQL 2000 we haven`t lost any of our original investment in training as the software has essentially the same look and feel across the range. And what`s more, our data was converted automatically, and we only had to pay the difference in the cost of the two packages."
