At last: affordable yet powerful network anti-spam/anti-virus e-mail security appliances for SA's SOHO/SME market

Johannesburg, 25 Mar 2009

SeKure-IT, the southern African distributor of PineApp's range of data security appliances, proudly announces the addition of Mail SeCure 1010M and 1020M e-mail protection appliances for up to 25 and 50 user networks to its product portfolio.

For the first time, complete e-mail security will be offered to end-users in the SA market from under R20 000 (excl VAT), including installation, a one-year licence and support agreement, and peace of mind in the knowledge that all the features of PineApp's highly respected, recommended, popular and award-winning range of Mail SeCure appliances (up to 30 000 users and beyond) has been included in a standalone unit for small and medium-sized enterprises.

By now, PineApp's Mail SeCure e-mail network protection appliances are no strangers to the worldwide IT networking market. In South Africa too, the distributor and its resellers/dealers are making the world of e-mail and the Internet safer with its near bulletproof anti-spam/anti-virus and Web-surfing control/management appliances.

Although PineApp has always offered a unit for 25 and 50 user networks, the relative pricing of the equipment, as good as it is, was at times too expensive for some organisations in the SOHO/SME market. This hindrance has now been overcome by utilising new, powerful and rugged, yet more price-effective hardware.

Comments Markus Kluwe for SeKure-IT: “Smaller organisations and networks, being, in most cases very price conscious, were very often limited to software-based network security or, in extreme cases, even 'freeware' or self-designed/written solutions to attempt to protect their networks against spam and viruses, and to provide even the most basic e-mail management and rule implementation.

“Traditionally, these solutions are not nearly as rugged nor as effective as dedicated PineApp anti-spam/anti-virus appliances; they are also very resource intensive and management intensive. Constant manual management, updating and tweaking puts tremendous strain on the network manager or the IT company supporting the system. Appliance-based perimeter security is vastly more rugged, less network-resource intensive and more reliable than software-based solutions. We are extremely excited that we are now in a position to offer a very affordable, very powerful data security solution for every network from very small to very large. This, in conjunction with the recent addition of our Mail Archiving and Mail Encryption solutions, as well as the established Surf-SeCure (Web-management and control appliances) products truly completes our offering in the South African market.”

The first delivery of 1010/1020Ms will arrive in SA within the next weeks and is expected to take the market by storm. IT resellers, dealers and networking support companies are expected to embrace the new products with open arms. Traditionally and regrettably, the SOHO/SME market has always been somewhat neglected by the large manufacturers of effective data security products, both software and hardware-based solutions.

Comments Kluwe: “The addition of the 1010 and 1020M is revolutionary, this kind of performance and features are most unusual in the market place. Our end-users will be impressed!”
