In the wake of its acquisitions of Letlhaka Technologies and Core Management Solutions in 2011, ATEC Systems and Technologies (ATEC), a national specialist ICT and software company focused on telecommunications, security and management systems, has, as of April, initiated a restructure of its management portfolio. The move signals a fresh chapter in the growth and development of the company.
ATEC is an ICASA licensed telecommunications provider and an established partner to various tier 1 and 2 telecoms suppliers. The company places a premium on telecommunications, specifically the introduction and roll-out of its e-State Last Mile Fibre Network that runs from homes in gated communities to a central server.
ATEC's Core focus is telecoms and security. Telecoms: Covering telecommunication networks within estates, business parks and buildings. The company's offering includes VOIP, telephone and fax, Internet connectivity and IPTV. Security solutions incorporate access control solutions and integrated visitor management systems.
Following the integration of Letlhaka Technologies and Core Management Solutions, which is now trading as a division of ATEC, Louis Parker has been appointed as CEO to fulfil the role established by MD Frans Verwoerd.
Parker founded the Visitor Management System, which was integrated into the ATEC set-up in June of 2011. A chemical engineer by trade, he has eight years' experience in process and product development with the likes of CSIR and AECI.
He focused his career on company management, after his Project Management Diploma and MBA degree, and has spent the last eight years either building his own business or revamping companies such as Tile Africa and Johnson Tiles, while employed at the Norcros group of companies.
Parker heads up a management team that has a mandate to make ATEC a brand renowned in the industry for service, reliability, integrity and cutting-edge technology.
The dynamic team of experienced ICT and engineering professionals comprises Chief Commercial Director, Gerhard Loots; Chief Technical Officer, Riaan Janse van Rensburg; Chief Operational Officer, Pieter Siebert; and Chief Financial Officer, Lourene van Niekerk.

Janse van Rensburg has a track-record of over 20 years' experience in fibre-to-the-home and fibre-optics, and oversees the team responsible for the development and integration of software, hardware systems, networks and Web applications for the company's range of products and services.
