ATI Technologies, supplier of graphics, video and multimedia solutions, has unveiled the new ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 8500DV, an advanced multimedia graphics board and the latest addition to the ALL-IN-WONDER family.

Distributed in SA by Memtek-MMW, the 8500DV delivers a quality home theatre experience for desktop personal computers. "It provides more features and more power than previous boards and includes the much-requested RF ( frequency) remote control feature," says Gary Naidoo, product manager at Memtek-MMW.

"Research done by ATI Technologies shows that customers often have their TV in a different room than their PC," he explains. "The remote control allows the user to control the PC TV functionality from anywhere in the house, even when the PC is in another room."

The 8500DV is the first in ATI`s family of video cards to provide IEEE 1394 standard DV ( video) connection, giving video enthusiasts the ability to connect digital camcorders and other IEEE 1394 devices.

This product also includes features such as TV-ON-DEMAND Timeshifting, enabling viewers to pause live TV or create instant replays and the combination of a RADEON 8500 GPU (graphics processor unit) and 64MB DDR (double data rate) memory for advanced 3D graphics.

It has a stereo TV-tuner with 125 channels, DVD video playback with Dolby AC-3 digital audio and provides for analogue and digital video capture and editing.

Additionally, the multimedia graphics board fully supports Microsoft`s DirectX 8.1 specification, an integral part of the new Microsoft Windows XP operating system.
