ATIO announces its latest business alliance with Avaya

Johannesburg, 01 Apr 2009

ATIO, a black empowered ICT specialist, is proud to announce its partnership agreement with Avaya to intensify its range of unified communication and IP telephony offerings in Africa.

“It has always been ATIO's strategy to expand our product range so as to better cover the Sub-Saharan Africa market that ATIO already operates in. We joined forces with Avaya simply because they are a global leader in corporate telephony and unified communication solutions and their product offerings, which includes contact centre, complement our niche market areas,” says Andre le Roux, MD, ATIO interactive division.

The new agreement is set to give ATIO a stronger market position than ever before with the ability to provide its customers and the market with a wide range of options around the telephony (IP and TDM), unified communications and contact centre markets.

“Avaya is delighted to have a top calibre partner like ATIO. Our market share in contact centre and IP telephony in Sub-Saharan Africa will be significantly enhanced with the energy and skills that ATIO brings to the table,” says Bridget Kelly, Country Manager, Avaya.

Avaya was recently announced by Dell'Oro Group, a market research company, as the worldwide market leader in the unified communications space and PBX which includes IP telephony. ATIO is proud to be associated with a world leader.

“Avaya is about communications. We deliver the very best in voice applications irrespective of the underlying network infrastructure. This is our business, it is all we do and we are proud to have selected ATIO to deliver this to the market on our behalf,” concludes Kelly.

“Being an Avaya business partner will enable ATIO to capitalise on global leading solutions as well as being able to access opportunities by leveraging on Avaya's track record of delivering state of the art solutions that improve efficiency, collaboration, customer services and competitiveness,” concludes Le Roux.

As convergence and VOIP technology becomes more prevalent in Africa, there is a dire need to integrate voice and data, make networks more flexible in order to adapt to new technologies. The introduction of Avaya into ATIO's service offering fits in perfectly with ATIO's overall unified communication strategy where business communication takes place from a desktop and application instead of traditional PBX-driven communication platforms.
