Local ICT services company ATIO has bought Business Connexion's (BCX's) Avaya assets for an undisclosed amount.
“After ATIO's cessation of our Interactive Intelligence assets to ININ earlier this year, we decided to investigate how ATIO could complement and grow our current offerings,” says ATIO CEO Chris van der Sande.
“When we became aware of the fact that Business Connexion was looking at streamlining their technology offerings, we jumped at the opportunity to acquire their Avaya assets, thereby dramatically increasing ATIO's Avaya market share in Southern Africa,” adds Van der Sande.
BCX COO Matthew Blewett says the company re-evaluated how it engages with its vendors as part of the realignment of its technology unit. He says BCX has entered into a long-term strategic alliance with ATIO, which sees the company becoming BCX's exclusive partner for all Avaya business in Africa.
“As a result of this transaction, our current employees focusing on Avaya technology will transition into ATIO to form part of its interactive division,” says Blewett.
ATIO's interactive division MD Dawn Hollingworth says being able to increase its staff complement allows the company to provide increased service levels to all its clients, both ATIO's existing and Business Connexion's clients.
