Management staff at two ATIO-installed call centres scooped the top awards at the Call Centre Networking Group (CCNG) annual banquet. Tanya Smith of Hollard Direct was named Call Centre Manager of the Year, and Theo Roos of the SA Post Office was named Call Centre Supervisor of the Year.
Smith and Roos were chosen from the hundreds of call centres around the country, and were selected by a panel of three judges. "They won the awards on their own merits," says Rose du Preez, chairman of the CCNG. "Our judges used 12 criteria set by independent arbiters, including members of the CCNG steering committee, and previous years` winners and finalists."
The judges this year were Moneeb Levy, 1998 Manager of the Year; Margie Middleton, assistant MD of International SOS; and Jeanne Dorney, 1998 US Call Centre Manager of the Year.
This was the second year in a row managers in ATIO-installed call centres had won the two awards: the previous year it was managers in the Vodacom and Nedbank call centres.
Both Smith and Roos were trained by Linda Coetzee & Associates, the call centre company that focuses on maximising call centre personnel and which contracts exclusively to ATIO.
