ATIO enters CRM market with Oracle range

Johannesburg, 02 Jul 1999

ATIO and Oracle have signed a letter of intent that will allow ATIO the right to market and sublicense the Oracle CRM (customer relationship management) range of products. This positions ATIO as one of two South African value-added resellers (VAR) of this particular product suite. This agreement adds CRM capabilities to ATIO`s range of offerings and closes the product and services loop from front office to back office.

Ivan Otterstrom, product manager: CRM at ATIO, says: "The agreement enables us to slot in the final piece of our go-to-market model for our customers. With this we now have a full range of product offerings, from Web, fax- and voice-enabled contact centres, to front-office CRM products."

ATIO has now positioned itself as a one-stop-shop supplier for all service needs. "Our CyberCall call centre product has been well received and has been installed at many locations. We will use CyberCall as a ready data source to feed the Oracle CRM solution with customer contacts, be it telephone, fax, e-mail or Web," Otterstrom adds.

Oracle combines the three most important areas of an enterprise`s core business: Operations, through its database dominance and business applications; customer contacts, through its CRM products; and strategic marketing, through its data warehouse offerings.

"The CRM market is rapidly becoming the most important one, with growth rates well above 50%," notes Otterstrom. "The market is still in its infancy in South Africa, but we expect it will mature even more rapidly than the cellular phone and the call centre market.

"This is the final link to position ATIO as a partner in all the steps of the value-chain in corporate customer environments," adds Otterstrom. The agreement covers the Southern Africa region and can be extended to other marketing areas as seen fit by both parties.
