ATIO, the leading provider of specialist ICT and telecoms service assurance solutions, is pleased to announce that a team of five mobile network optimisation specialists have successfully completed a two-week training course in Dubai, focusing on long-term evolution (LTE), mobile network planning, optimisation and performance management.
The course was delivered by leading global LTE technology experts and focused on LTE network architecture overview, air interface, end-to-end call processing, troubleshooting, and culminated in a live network and real data performance workshop.
The customised training programme was developed in partnership with the MICT SETA, which co-funded the initiative as part of its national skills development mandate.
"This is a significant step forward for ATIO and our customers deploying LTE. It also represents a success story for the MICT SETA programme," said Tim Courtenay, Managing Director of ATIO Telecoms division. "LTE is rolling out faster on a global basis than anyone predicted. Its growth rate outstrips 3G or HSPA technologies when they were launched. LTE has been designed as an all-IP system; however, for it to reach its full potential requires proper mobile network design and management. ATIO is playing a key role in this space and we will continue to work with our new and existing operator customer base, to ensure that customers receive an optimal experience when using LTE."
