ATIO Corporation today announced it had signed an agreement with Wadaro Ltd from the UK to represent the Wadaro TAP solution exclusively in South Africa and other African countries.
Under this agreement, ATIO will provide a full-service offering of the TAP solution to mobile network operators and network outsource providers, including sales, support and value-added services.
Wadaro TAP (Total Analysis Package) is a unique SIM-based customer experience management solution. Addressing a long-standing need for 'last mile' customer experience insight, the platform turns every mobile subscriber into a network test point. With the capability of recording events that the network never sees, such as time to first service, the mobile network operator can now complete the holistic view of the customers' experience to manage a better overall quality of service and contain churn.
Tim Courtenay, Managing Director of ATIO telecoms division, says: “We are very excited and feel privileged to have secured this partnership with Wadaro. ATIO has many years' experience in mobile network performance management, from drive testing through to optimisation. We immediately saw the immense value that this breakthrough solution from Wadaro, combined with ATIO's managed service capability, can bring to the market. Our delivery model is to provide the solution on a managed service basis with servers hosted either in the operator's premises or in the cloud, depending on the operator's preference.”
Robert Wakeling, CEO and founder of Wadaro Ltd, says: “TAP solves an increasing complex need among mobile network operators to understand actual subscriber experience. This is as important in Africa as it is in any other competitive market, where operators are under pressure to reduce costs, manage customer experience and network quality and reduce churn. In ATIO we have a regional partner with a fundamental understanding of this domain. ATIO also has a service delivery capability to ensure TAP delivers maximum value to the users.”
Wakeling points out some specific key benefits of the solution:
* TAP reveals information not available from traditional drive test or network probe-based solutions.
* TAP is simple to deploy and covers an entire network geography.
* TAP works independently of the core network deployed.
* TAP provides continuous actual performance information, not something derived from 2nd order data.
* TAP does not require subscriber permissions or actions in order to function.

Wadaro
Founded in 2005, Wadaro is a UK-based software company providing innovative customer experience monitoring solutions for mobile network operators. A portfolio of SIM Clients, under the collective branding of 'Total Analysis Package (TAP)', monitors the performance of mobile network service from within the subscriber's mobile phone. Customers for TAP include mobile network operators (MNOs) and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) globally. As TAP is implemented in the SIM card, the applet can report on performance irrespective of the access technology deployed to provide service. Consequently, TAP supports 2G, 3G and mixed mode service enabled by Pico/Micro/Femto cells, UMA plus the dynamic handover between all these technologies.
