Atos KPMG Consulting announces new CEO

Atos KPMG Consulting has today announced the election of John King as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). King succeeds Pierre Fourie, who has decided to step-down as CEO to join the Assurance practice of KPMG Inc. King will take-up the position of CEO as of 1 May 2003.

Commenting on the election of King as CEO, Fourie says: "John has been a partner for 13 years and brings a wide breadth and depth of experience to the position. John, with the support of the partners, will provide excellent leadership to ensure that Atos KPMG Consulting continues to experience growth.

"The decision to join KPMG Inc`s Assurance practice was a business decision taken with the knowledge that Atos KPMG Consulting has an extremely strong management team and with the election yesterday of John, a very strong leader," added Fourie.

John King (42), a Chartered Accountant by training, has extensive experience in consulting across a wide range of industries, and is currently the Head of the Strategy and Operations practice of Atos KPMG Consulting in SA. He is also the Chairman of the Botswana consulting practice.

On his election to the position of CEO, King said: "I am delighted to have been elected by the partners to the position of CEO. Atos KPMG Consulting has a strong management team with a wealth of experience that will ensure the continuation of the success demonstrated over past years. I look forward to working closely with all the partners to grow the company."
