Attachmate Corporation, 20-year veteran of connecting users with critical enterprise applications and data, has announced a collaboration with PreWorX to incorporate its PreBoot technology into NetWizard Professional.
The addition of PXE technology to the NetWizard product line enables delivery of advanced service and support solutions for desktop and PC lifecycle management.
"The inclusion of PreWorX PreBoot technology in NetWizard gives us the ability to discover PCs as they`re added to the network, provide tools for remote imaging of an operating system and applications, pre-boot remote control, remote hardware inventory and diagnostics as well as many other services still to come. This will greatly reduce the cost of `false` calls for non-hardware-related errors," said Theo Fourie, area director of sales for Northern Europe, Attachmate.
Attachmate has directly invested in SA over the last 10 years, and this OEM agreement with a wholly-owned SA entity further underscores Attachmate`s commitment to the South African region. The NetWizard products with PreWorX technology will be sold on a worldwide basis.
PreWorX PreBoot technology executes on a PC before an operating system loads and is uniquely valuable for diagnosing low-level hardware problems that may even prevent an OS from loading. PreBoot can be combined with a wide variety of other tools and technologies to develop numerous solutions including OS distribution, migration and repair. PreBoot-enabled hardware inventory, customisable boot menus and customisable network boot images are ideal for integration with the advanced help-desk operations found in many IT organisations.
While fully compliant with the PXE specification, the PreWorX technology also provides PXE capabilities for older non-PXE compliant PCs and network adapters, allowing organisations to continue leveraging all their PC resources.
