SecureData, an ERP.com company and the exclusive sub-Saharan distributor of Trend Micro (NASDAQ: TMIC, TSE: 4704), a worldwide leader in network anti-virus and Internet content security solutions, has announced that Attachmate has selected Trend Micro's NeaTSuite, a solution including every tool needed to fight viruses across the network.
Attachmate is the leading supplier of enterprise information access and management software and services to major corporations and government agencies worldwide. Eighty percent of the Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies trust Attachmate products to manage access to their mission-critical host applications and databases.
Trend Micro's NeaTSuite will provide centrally managed enterprise virus protection for Attachmate's worldwide network, including its individual workstations, file and applications servers, e-mail servers and Internet gateways.
Randy Brown, senior network administrator at Attachmate, comments: "We reached a critical point in our virus protection infrastructure that required us to change our anti-virus supplier. We needed an easier-to-use solution with strong technical support from the provider. We've been extremely satisfied with Trend Micro's ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange product and its support, so it was a natural choice for us to replace McAfee with Trend Micro's full enterprise anti-virus solution, NeaTSuite."
Attachmate has been using ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange, centrally managed through the Trend Virus Control System (Trend VCS) for over a year now and will be fully implementing InterScan VirusWall, eManager, Server Protect, and OfficeScan Corporate Edition to round out its multi-layered enterprise virus protection. Brown added: "In the short time that we have been using InterScan VirusWall with the optional eManager plug-in, we have already seen a major reduction in the amount of spam e-mail we have received, especially when compared to our previous solution. This is just one example of the level of product performance you can expect from an industry leader like Trend Micro."
"Organisations that have offices across borders are commonplace now," said Mike Conner, president of Trend Micro, North America. "Those organisations are realising that desktop protection alone can not sufficiently protect them against today's Internet-borne virus threats. A centrally managed anti-virus solution alleviates the potential headache of a multi-tiered anti-virus solution that spans multiple borders. Central management is absolutely critical in order to unify and manage all the anti-virus products on the network, regardless of platform or physical location... a huge time-saver during a virus outbreak when pattern updates need to be deployed across the network in minutes, not hours."

Trend Micro's NeaTSuite provides comprehensive protection for the entire enterprise by covering the full range of entry points into an organisation and includes:
* Trend Virus Control System (Trend VCS) is a management solution that allows administrators to configure, monitor, and maintain Trend Micro's anti-virus programs installed on the network from a single point - regardless of the program's physical location or platform.
* InterScan VirusWall provides real-time Internet gateway protection against viruses and malicious code in SMTP, HTTP and FTP traffic. The optional eManager adds spam blocking, content filtering, and e-mail scheduling to optimise bandwidth.
* ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange detects and removes viruses hidden in email attachments and public folders in real time 3/4 before infections can spread to the desktop. (Also available for Lotus Notes.)
* ServerProtect efficiently safeguards multiple servers and domains from virus attack with next-generation anti-virus software that can be installed and managed from a single secure console.
* OfficeScan Corporate Edition is desktop anti-virus for the corporate enterprise. Web-based central management allows administrators, in real-time, to configure and update desktop protection from a single console and log all virus incidents in a single database.
