Australian bureau mulls HR system overhaul

IT News.

The People@ABS project aims to provide a standardised, flexible and integrated HR and Payroll system that would be deployed by June 2012 and remain in place for 10 years.

New Oracle eBusiness Suite components would replace a Rainbow HR management and system, PRISM reporting system and Lotus Domino-based self-service applications.

Bon Secours in Cork has also installed a new fully-automated HR and payroll system, states Silicon Republic.

Representing an investment of EUR330 000, it replaces existing complex manual systems and will result in greater efficiencies and improved management information for the hospital.

The fully-automated system has taken more than 12 months to install and has been rolled out across all levels of the hospital's 1 100 employees, helping to manage the hospital's 286 shift patterns and 600 rostering schedules.

The bespoke IT system was developed by Softworks, an Irish software development company, based in Bray, Co Wicklow, in conjunction with the hospital's IT department.
