Auto-enrolment pressures payroll, HR

According to UK pensions administrator Rpmi, auto-enrolment is placing a significant burden on payroll and human resource (HR) departments, as they struggle to cope with the changes in preparation for 2012, says Professional Pensions.

Rpmi MD of administration Robert Branagh says there was a “real concern” on the payroll and HR side, due to a lack of appropriate software, processes, and even comprehension of what the changes actually mean.

He says: “The pensions industry is well placed to cope with change, but HR and payroll professionals are struggling to cope with 2012 as it stands. There really needs to be some help for them.”
