Autodesk buys on-demand software provider

Autodesk announced it has completed the acquisition of Constructware, a privately-held company based in Alpharetta, Georgia, that provides on-demand communication and collaboration solutions that streamline design, construction and facility management.

The acquisition closed for a cash consideration of $46 million. This acquisition enables Autodesk to rapidly expand its Autodesk Buzzsaw collaborative project management solution with Constructware `s industry leading cost, bid and management capabilities.

According to a press release, the acquisition allows Autodesk to more completely meet the needs of its customers, through the use of on-demand collaborative project management solutions.

Expesite releases upgraded PM tool

Expesite has released version 6.7, the latest edition of its Web-based software tool that enables high-growth companies to manage projects more efficiently and cost-effectively.

Clients of Expesite are companies involved in real estate development and remodelling or expansions for multi-unit roll-outs, according to a press release.

Expesite v6.7 consists of more than 40 new features and system enhancements. Fitting with Expesite`s ASP model, this new upgrade is immediately available for all new and existing clients.

Marketcircle unveils Mac software

Canadian-based developer Marketcircle has caught the attention of technology giant Apple.

Marketcircle unveiled Daylite 3.0, a major makeover of its contact management, project management and scheduling software for Macintosh computers, reports the Globe and Mail.

In a bid for a bigger piece of the business technology market, Apple is making space for Daylite on the shelves at many of its retail stores and providing access to engineers to help Marketcircle fine-tune its software.
