Avaya has further expanded its local team in sub-Saharan Africa with the appointment of Craig Butler as business development manager for the coastal regions.
Butler brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the local office, including 16 years in the communications market. His new business development responsibilities with Avaya will span both the KwaZulu-Natal and Cape regions.
"We are very committed to the coastal regions and have doubled our staff over the past year in response to growing demand," says Bridget Kelly, country manager for Avaya sub-Saharan Africa. "The appointment of a dedicated business development manager will help us ensure that our BusinessPartners have the resources they need in order to be successful and to better serve the local business community."
Butler has extensive knowledge of Avaya solutions and previously worked in a technical and presales role with Avaya BusinessPartner Dimension Data.
"I have been working directly with the Avaya products for more than nine years in both technical and sales capacities, and I am very pleased to be joining the team at a time when convergence is on the edge of exploding in the local market," Butler said. "What really excites me is the potential for helping businesses use technology to transform their operations."
Butler formerly worked with Telkom, Phillips, NBS and Dimension Data, where he was a solutions architect and manager of the company`s voice solutions business.
