Avaya gives 'freedom of speech'
Members of the UAE's mobile workforce can keep their eyes on the road and safely stay connected to the office using speech commands and their own, "personal assistant", reports Albawaba.
Avaya is providing the 'freedom of speech' feature at no additional cost with the latest version of its unified messaging platform.
Avaya Modular Messaging 4.0 now includes the Avaya one-X Speech interface to a personal assistant, providing hands-free access to calling and conferencing capabilities, voice, e-mail and fax messaging, enterprise directories and databases, calendars, contacts and task lists - from any telephone.
Zannel raises further funding
Zannel, the provider of a mobile multimedia messaging service, has raised $10 million in its second round of funding, led by Alloy Ventures, states Digital Media Wire.
Previous investors US Venture Partners and Palomar Ventures also participated in the round, which the company will use to accelerate expansion of its platform.
The mobile social networking service allows users to publish text, pictures and video messages to groups of friends.
Good Technology goes beyond messaging
Motorola's Good Technology on Monday unveiled a mobility suite that the company says will add more than mobile e-mail to its mobility offerings, states CRN.
Later this year, Motorola will release the Good Mobility Suite version 6.0 which adds a new managed service VPN along with an enhanced device management and security platform.
The suite will include Good Mobile Connection, Good Administration Centre and Good Mobile Messaging to enable VARs to offer their customers more secure, seamless and manageable mobile access to applications, according to Dan Rudolph, Good Technnology's director of product marketing.
