Avaya Sub-Saharan Africa is pleased to announce that Quick Edition has won the recent small business Voice over IP (VOIP) ChannelWeb bakeoff.
ChannelWeb is the online version of the CRN and VARBusiness magazines, and is a member of the global publishing company CMP. In the bakeoff, Quick Edition was named as the best IP telephony system when matched against four other offerings, namely Adtran (NetVanta 7100), Cisco (Smart Business Communications Systems 500), Fonality (PBXtra), and Nortel (Business Communications Manager 50).
"Winning this bakeoff has reinforced Avaya's strength and focus in meeting small business requirements," says Bridget Kelly, regional manager of Avaya Sub-Saharan Africa. "Avaya is very pleased that Quick Edition is being tested and recognised for its convenience and usability."
Quick Edition is Avaya's innovative Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) solution for small business. It is easy to install and manage and all the software is embedded in the telephone handset, ensuring there is no need for a communications server or any advanced installation support.
Quick Edition starts working as soon as it is plugged in and offers commonly used applications including voice mail, conferencing and auto attendant. The results of the ChannelWeb bake-off add impetus to Avaya's opinion that Quick Edition is one of the most user-friendly, and easily maintained VOIP solutions on the market.
In the bakeoff, the publication recognised its efficiency and named Quick Edition as the winner based upon its speedy deployment, user-friendly interface, and its ability to use existing network infrastructure. Quick Edition was also noted for its convenient peer-to-peer technology that assists with easy installation and replacement of end points. The ChannelWeb journalist also commended the easy-to-use Web interface adopted by Quick Edition that enables easy remote programming for solution providers over an Internet connection.
Avaya sub-Saharan Africa is placing significant focus on the small business environment and have recently appointed Chris Goldie as its dedicated SMBS channel manager in the Avaya sub-Saharan region.
"Avaya recognises that small businesses need to be catered for individually, and is confident that Quick Edition is able to offer a full range of VOIP solutions that in the past were solely available to larger enterprises," ends Kelly.
