Avaya updates channel programme

vendor Avaya has introduced a global channel programme with tiered rebates and new small and medium enterprise (SME) competencies, reports News.

The aim of the programme is to improve profitability and skill sets.

Avaya has also pared down its training programme tracks from 97 learning and certification options to 13 solutions-based courses focused on unified communications, contact centre and the SME solution life cycle.

SMEs offer renewed hope

SMEs are spending more on IT and independent software vendors (ISVs) are preparing a slew of new offerings for them, states Network Computing.

After a slump in the enterprise application software market, the return to good times is not far away and it is the SME sector that offers new hope.

Since large enterprises are more or less done with fresh application deployments, the focus is now on SMEs and a Microsoft-AMI Partners report projects growth in SME IT spend in the Indian market to continue at a robust 24%.

SonicWall adds UTM models

Security specialist for the SME market SonicWall recently added six models to its popular TZ range of unified threat management (UTM) appliances, according to ZDNet Australia.

The models were designed to serve the one-man-band upwards and are topped out by the TZ 210 which neatly bridges the gap between SME and enterprise products.

The TZ 210 is available with or without an integrated Wireless-N (802.11n) access point and has 2Gb Ethernet interfaces at the back, labelled WAN and LAN, for Internet and local network attachment, respectively.
