Richard Fearon has been appointed CEO of Avnic Holdings, effective 1 September. Avnic's current CEO, John Gallacher, will assume the role of group chairman.
Avnic Holdings is made up of several companies, including Avnic Trading, the sole African distributor of the Garmin ranges of personal navigation devices, fitness and marine GPS navigation solutions.
Fearon has over 20 years' experience in traditional distribution of mid to hi-tech products aimed at businesses, as well as in business development in vertical segments. These include wireless, mobile and network video, targeting consumer and business users.
"We are very pleased to welcome Richard aboard," comments Gallacher. "Richard has worked closely with us as a consultant over the past two years, developing our business and communications strategy and, in that period, the brand has enjoyed enormous growth.
