AVOLENT releases survey results
AVOLENT today released survey results illustrating the environmental impact business organisations have by offering electronic billing and payment software, according to eMedia Wire.
Among the AVOLENT customers included in this study are DELL, HP, Xerox, OfficeDepot, Highmark, and Do It Best.
Using calculations supplied by the Environmental Defence Fund, over 1 000 000 trees are saved every year due to e-billing.
iPhone encourages e-billing
Some bills for Apple's new iPhone have been hundreds of pages long, because unless customers requested bills summarising their spending, AT&T's practice was to mail bills that itemise phone use in intricate detail, says courant.com.
A video made by blogger Justine Ezarik shows her paging through her 300-page iPhone bill. "Use e-billing," her video encourages. "Save a forest."
On Wednesday, AT&T, Apple's wireless partner, sent text messages to iPhone customers telling them they would receive summary bills as a default option. If they want itemised bills, or online billing, they should contact AT&T.
E-billing slows MESTA collections
Insurance collections for MESTA in July were low again due to billing difficulties with Medicare and Medicaid, says The Daily Times.
Director Rick Langkamp reported collections in July were $43 150.18. This is the second consecutive month collections were low.
Shelia Hale of Patient Billings said recently that Medicare reported approximately 66 000 claims were lost. Medicare would not identify a list of whose claims were lost to Patient Billings or any company.
