Avusa, PA Media create mega site

Independent property publisher PA Media and media giant Avusa have partnered to create a new social business marketplace, Junction.co.za.

The new site combines CareerJunction.co.za with the newly-formed PropertyJunction.co.za and AutoJunction.co.za into a single platform.

According to PropertyJunction and AutoJunction executive manager Dave Asher, CareerJunction.co.za is SA's largest employment Web site, with over 1.8 million listed users and 600 000 users a month.

“CareerJunction will be the springboard to launch the AutoJunction and PropertyJunction brands,” says Asher, adding that the platform will give clients exposure to CareerJunction's established audience.

“Usually, it takes time for a new Web site or portal to attract a significant number of users, but in this case, we will be piggybacking off CareerJunction, and will reach 'critical mass' very quickly as a result.”

Asher explains that PropertyJunction and AutoJunction will not only be sites where consumers can find cars and homes, but will introduce a pay-per-lead business model and position themselves as performance-based generators of quality sales leads to the real estate and vehicle sales industries.

“This is a bold step,” says Asher, “but we believe the market is ready for a change and are confident that our approach in terms of transacting with our clients purely on performance is a step in the right direction.

“Unlike other Web sites in these categories, ours offers unique functions such as an affordability search linked to users' personal profiles in which they can store their own vehicle and property information.”

Junction.co.za is already live, and users can log in using their existing CareerJunction profiles, or create a new profile on the site.
