Axcient adopts HP converged infrastructure
data protection platform for its small and medium enterprise (SME) customers, according to Bradenton.
As “a rapidly growing provider of backup, business continuity and disaster recovery services,” Axcient says it required a resilient infrastructure with the uptime capabilities customers need for complete data protection.
Axcient aims to deliver its data protection software as a service through managed service providers and value-added resellers.
With the agreement between the two, Axcient's data protection platform starts with an HP ProLiant server-based appliance that sits at the customer site to do quick backups and restores and to provide failover of downed servers for business continuity, reveals CRN.
The appliance is further connected to Axcient's cloud-based disaster recovery service, which is also based on HP products, for a complete data protection solution.
“Axcient's solution allows SME-focused channel partners to tap into the $4 billion-plus data protection market, acquire new customers and solidify their presence in customers' IT operations,” says Justin Moore, founder and CEO, Axcient, according to TTKN.
“We found that HP's converged infrastructure delivered the maximum uptime and minimal administration we needed for the rapidly growing IT services market”, he notes.
