Axis Communications brings together channel base for 2018 Tech Days

Johannesburg, 29 Jan 2019

Axis Communications embarked on a journey in 2018 to educate and demonstrate end-to-end solutions, services and products to partners, customers, business owners and consultants. The global leader in network video is constantly innovating, improving and changing its approach to adapt to customer needs.

With more than 30 years' experience as the industry leader in network video, Axis offers products and services for video surveillance, analytics, access control, and audio systems. It is imperative for the business to stay ahead of global trends and to introduce key learnings into the local market in order to ensure the safety and security of South Africans.

This is why Axis decided to create an event that not only showcased the best it has on offer, but an event that also includes its technology partners. Tech Day emerged from this: a one-day, hands-on and interactive event, moving away from traditional PowerPoint presentations to more practical demonstrations, with the Axis Mobile unit in full operation. This way, they are able to showcase a variety of end-to-end solutions in real-time.

During the course of 2018, Axis hosted five events in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Nelspruit, with valuable partners including Cathexis, Genetec, Milestone, Quanergy, Qogfiny and DellEmc. All showcased their various solutions that integrate seamlessly with Axis.

The core message centred on edge-based intelligence and the flexibility it provides. Intrusion detection, retail analytics and much more were showcased, so clients could experience them first-hand.

"Tech Day is an important way for us as an organisation to connect and bring the highest quality experiences and resources to our channel partners and address some of the key issues that they may be facing on the ground," says Sasha Bonheim, Maketing Manager at Axis Communications SA.

These sessions have proven to be a critical learning curve as the demographic of the B2B buyer is changing and there is a shift towards a core focus on the customer experience. Axis wants to ensure it is always engaging with its customers so it can provide relevant, innovative and easy-to-use products and services.

"The feedback we are receiving from these events has been invaluable. Attendees have expressed that the events have been educational, interactive and a great way of networking and learning more about Axis, as well as our partners' best-of-breed solutions," Bonheim says.

"Using this feedback as a guide, we can make sure that we continue to adapt our events to showcase our best work, connect with our partners, customers and business owners, exchange ideas, find partners and conceive projects. It is where community ties are strengthened and where boundaries will be broken. It is where you want to be to make things happen."
