In conjunction with the IFSEC-2004 tradeshow in Birmingham, UK, Axis introduced a new range of high performance video products targeting the professional security and surveillance markets. The products launched include a new progressive scan network camera with Power over Ethernet, Axis` first network dome camera and a network video decoder.
Axis, which already has the market`s broadest product offering within network video, now introduces a series of new products based on the company`s new generation video technology. With outstanding performance and a clear focus on superior image quality, the new products are all targeted at the professional segment of the network video market.
With the AXIS 211 Network Camera, Axis raises the bar for high-resolution network cameras. Combining simultaneous full frame rate Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 with a varifocal auto iris lens, integrated Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af compliant) and powerful event handling with built-in video motion detection, this progressive scan camera is ideal for demanding security and surveillance applications. Optimised for both indoor and outdoor environments, AXIS 211 addresses the needs of institutions such as airports, manufacturing plants and public buildings.
For customers requiring full remote pan/tilt/zoom functionality for indoor as well as outdoor use, the new AXIS 231D Network Dome Camera is an optimal solution. The unit combines the functionality of legacy analogue dome cameras with all the features found in a high quality network camera, including full frame rate real-time video of resolutions up to 768x576 (PAL). With an outdoor housing available as an add-on choice, AXIS 231D answers to the specific needs of customers such as airports, logistic centres and schools.
Despite all the benefits of true IP-Surveillance, there are occasions when an analogue monitor is required. The new AXIS 292 Network Video Decoder enables customers within retail and remote surveillance centres, for example, to decode digital video and audio from any Axis Motion JPEG or MPEG based products into analogue signals. The signals can then be connected to standard analogue devices, such as public display TV/monitors as well as existing video switching systems.
The new products will be available through Axis` distribution channels during the summer of 2004.
