Axis Communications, identified by Frost & Sullivan as the global market leader in IP video, announced strong Q3 results for 2005 which confirm its hold on its leadership position. Sales overall increased 29% year-on-year, and video product sales increased by 55% year-on-year.
Roy Alves, Managing Director of SCS Distribution, exclusive distributor in Africa of Axis products, commented: "Axis results are excellent, and the strong growth in video products matches the global growth in this area. This shows that IP video is gaining market share, and Axis is retaining the lead in that market. Both are good news for us."
Alves says the move from analogue to digital surveillance systems is being driven by the flexibility, ease of expansion, and low total system cost of IP Video solutions.
"Being able to use commodity PCs, monitors and disk drives, and not requiring special cabling, makes a huge difference to system cost. Add the ability to monitor IP video cameras from anywhere in the world, and it`s easy to see why this market segment is showing such strong growth."

Axis increases the value of network solutions. The company is an innovative market leader in network video and print servers.
