Axiz announces availability of Gainward 3D graphics processor boards featuring NVIDIA FX5900 chipsets

Johannesburg, 25 Jul 2003

Axiz, sole distributor of Gainward in SA, has announced that it has the latest Gainward 3D graphics cards featuring NVIDIA`s GeForce FX5900 and FX5900 Ultra graphics processing units (GPU) - currently the fastest consumer gaming cards on the market - immediately available.

Philip Henning, Gainward product manager at Axiz, comments: "The NVIDIA FX5900 chip is currently acknowledged by gaming enthusiasts as the fastest in terms of overall performance. It has accumulated various awards, such as MaximumPC`s KickAss product award, the ExtremeTech Approved award and Firing Squad`s Bull`s Eye award."

He continues: "Gainward has designed two cards: the Gainward FX PowerPack! Ultra/1200XP 'Golden Sample` and the Gainward FX PowerPack! These cards are targeted at serious and extreme gamers, but also offer superior graphics rendering capabilities to the CAD, DTP, 3D Animation and video editing markets. Both cards support two monitors simultaneously at maximum resolutions of 2048x1536 at 85Hz, also known as DualHead/ TwinView technology.

* Gainward`s "Golden Sample" products guarantee stability and performance even at significantly enhanced clock settings by using a hand-selected 3D graphics processor and carefully qualified memory chips.

* NVIDIA nView Multi-Display Technology allows end-users to select any combination of multiple displays, including digital flat panels (LCD), analogue CRTs, and TVs, and modify the display properties using an intuitive software interface for more efficient viewing.

* Includes Gainward`s award-winning EXPERTool tuning utility for customised performance enhancements and efficient desktop management.

* Also includes performance enhanced, accelerated software drivers for all major operating systems and APIs.

* Supports AGP 8x, 4x, and 2x.

Henning continues: "Gainward is recognised worldwide as a superior graphics card in terms of quality, reliability and stability, and is widely acknowledged to generally be first to market with new technologies."

"As a result of the 2.2ns DDR memory and 256-bit processing power, these two cards redefine graphic performance, delivering higher graphic resolutions at unprecedented performance levels. At a recommended retail price starting from R4 899, these Gainward graphics cards are very affordable in terms of performance delivery," he concludes.
