Axiz appointed as exclusive distributor for networking specialist Allied Telesyn

Johannesburg, 27 Oct 2004

Leading IT infrastructure distributor, Axiz, has been appointed by Allied Telesyn as its exclusive distributor for the full range of connectivity and enterprise networking products in sub-Saharan Africa with immediate effect. This appointment secures a mid-range network offering for small and medium enterprises for Axiz.

"Axiz has experienced an increased demand for a more comprehensive network offering. As an infrastructure distributor it was imperative that we found an offering that complemented our business and was able to meet the needs of our reseller base. Allied Telesyn, through its connectivity and enterprise range of networking equipment, was able to meet our needs," says Craig Brunsden, marketing director, Axiz.

As one of the fastest growing networking companies in Europe, it was only a matter of time before Allied Telesyn addressed the African continent.

"We have been researching the South African market for some time now and believe that it holds much promise. We also think that the local market is ready for another networking alternative," says Julian Hubble, managing director North West Europe, Allied Telesyn.

By appointing Axiz, Allied Telesyn is guaranteed a solid, focused and aggressive sales and marketing approach. "We believe Allied Telesyn`s product range will fit perfectly into in our existing product line and ensures that we can effectively satisfy the current demand," says Brunsden.

Allied Telesyn distributes its products via a network of specialist partners and resellers. There are currently 75 distribution partners and over 20 000 partner resellers worldwide.

"Our commitment to the channel is to provide the optimum vendor service and support possible. Working within the Allied Telesyn Partner Programme will allow channel partners such as Axiz to successfully offer innovative end-to-end solutions," says Hubble.

Specialising in providing Ethernet networking and connectivity systems, Allied Telesyn is the world-leading manufacturer of media conversion products. Within recent years, the company has expanded its range of products, and now offers customers of all sizes the widest range of access, aggregation, backbone and core transport technologies to provide cost-effective Ethernet/IP-based solutions.

"We chose to partner with Axiz because we need to build a strong presence in the South African market and believe that Axiz is the company that will assist us to achieve this goal," concludes Hubble.
