Axiz broadens multi-monitor graphics adapter offering

Johannesburg, 25 Jan 2001

Axiz has expanded its range of multi-monitor VGA cards with the addition of the CARDEXpert GeForce2 MX TwinView graphics adapter.

Integrating NVIDIA`s 256-bit NVIDIA GeForce2 MX chipset, 32 MB of SDRAM memory performance settings, two VGA monitor connectors with independent control panels plus a TV-out connector, this card is a powerful addition to the Axiz stable of graphics cards. "The CARDEXpert series features High-Performance/Wide-Bandwidth hardware design and software support to assure outstanding performance and stability," says Graeme Frielick, graphics product manager at AXiZ. "In addition, the 32 MB CARDEXpert GeForce2 MX TwinView includes add-ons such as XPERTool performance tuning utilities, plug-and-play installation, and Windows utilities."

Even under multiple display mode, the card still supports full hardware transform and lighting, per-pixel shading and cube environment mapping, rendering up to 20 million triangles per second.

XPERTool is a performance-tuning utility that allows the user to adjust the CARDEXpert GeForce2 MX TwinView engine clock from NVIDIA`s recommended default settings of 175 MHz engine clock and 166 MHz memory clock to even higher settings.

The integrated 350 MHz RAMDAC delivers refresh rates up to 240 Hz and true color (32bpp) up to 1920 x 1440 at 85 Hz refresh rate. Resolutions and refresh rates on each monitor can be individually controlled.

"Many users benefit from having multiple displays, such as financial analysts, graphic artists, software engineers, video editors, gamers and web designers," says Frielick. "NVIDIA`s TwinView technology provides multi-display support from a single graphics processor - until now, this has been accomplished only by sacrificing 3D performance." TwinView is the professional users` choice for workstation environments and gives users with mainstream budgets access to advanced dual head displays.

Performance tuning is the most commonly used method among the ultimate power gamers to extract the utmost performance out of a high quality 3D graphics card. However, performance tuning is also a very useful feature for bandwidth demanding dual monitor applications.

The CARDEXpert GeForce2 MX TwinView supports all major OS and software standards including Microsoft Windows 95/98/2000/NT4.0, Linux, Open GL ICD, and DirectX 7.0 to deliver the best performance while assuring the best possible compatibility with current and future applications and games.

Gainward`s TwinView supports a variety of output combinations including:

  • Two VGA monitors

  • Two analog flat panels

  • One VGA monitor and one analog flat panel

  • One VGA monitor and one TV

  • One analog flat panel and one TV
