In response to world gaming market growth Axiz, the leading IT infrastructure distributor has introduced a set of Genius gaming devices that will excite the most avid gamer. Models in the range include the MaxFighter F-31U vibration joystick, MaxFire G-12PS game controller, Speed Wheel 3 vibration racing wheel and TwinWheel.
"The gaming market is booming. According to IDC, a global provider and advisory of market intelligence, service and events for the information technology and telecommunications industry, revenue for the total gaming market including hardware, software and accessories is expected to top $24.2 billion this year, an increase of 17.1% from 2004. Following these statistics it was a logical step forward for Axiz to introduce a new series of gaming models to the South African market," says Annie Padayachee, Genius product manager, Axiz.
"The MaxFighter F-31U vibration joystick has a stronger built-in motor for powerful vibration effects. Gamers are now able to encounter a `realistic force` when playing combat and flight games," says Padayachee.
The model includes 10 buttons, trigger, throttle/rudder or hat switch control as well as viewfinder, supports Windows XP/Me/2000/98 and comes complete with four suction cups for a stable play base. Gamers require an IBM PC 586/Pentium II or higher, an available USB port as well as CD/DVD-ROM or drive for software installation of the MaxFighter F-31U.
Gamers can enjoy a sensitive gaming experience in either digital or analogue mode with the MaxFire G-12PS, which is also compatible with all PlayStation games.
"The analogue mode provides up to 255 levels of pressure-sensitivity and supports every action button of the MaxFire G-12PS," says Padayachee. With ergonomically engineered control angles and curves the MaxFire G-12PS allows for extended game play utilising the single, round eight way 360^0 D-pad. In addition, gamers can experience all the hits, explosions and crashes of their fighting, racing, sports and flying games with the MaxFire G-12PS controls` built-in dual vibration motors, while the sensitive analogue buttons and two mini-sticks assist gamers in performing unexpected tricky moves.
"The Speed Wheel 3 Vibration racing wheel is accompanied by vibration feedback technology so that gamers can now experience the speed, g-force and road conditions of their car games," indicates Padayachee. The Speed Wheel 3 Vibration racing wheel has a set of sensitive, slip-resistant brake pedals for faster acceleration and precise braking, while eight programmable buttons and levers make for easy car control. Gamers require a Pentium class CPU-166MHz or higher, an available USB port as well as Microsoft Windows XP/Me/2000/98 to operate the Speed Wheel 3 Vibration racing wheel.
The TwinWheel is the latest two in one racing device from Axiz and has a vibration feedback steering wheel for both PC and PlayStation 2 platforms.
"Gamers will experience all the bumps, crashes and a more realistic force with the TwinWheels` two vibration motors," says Padayachee. The TwinWheel has 12 programmable buttons, four suction cups and two C-clamps on the base of the wheel for greater stability. The TwinWheel also consists of a set of gas and brake pedals.
Compatible with IBM PC Pentium 166MHz compatibles or higher, the TwinWheel requires Windows XP/Me/2000/98 drives as well a CD/DVD-ROM Drive for driver installation and an available USB port.
"It`s an exciting time for gamers with all the evolving technology and worldwide growth the gaming market is experiencing. With models such as these we can ensure that South African gamers won`t be left behind in the market of universal games," concludes Padayachee.
