The introduction of colour laser printers has not only improved the quality of colour printing, but has also become multifunctional in use with wide-format applications needed by print-for-pay businesses.
These wide-format applications also empower new applications needed by designers for their graphics printing. In addition, colour laser printers have started offering users feature-rich security options to protect business information at every stage of the workflow process.
As a result, leading IT infrastructure distributor, Axiz, has introduced the Lexmark C920, which offers businesses top security features to protect their documents, and the Lexmark W840, which is ideal for architects and CAD designers, offering advanced finishing options.
"With today`s strict confidentiality requirements, customers need more than a high-quality printer to meet the printing demands of their businesses. Axiz understands the importance of corporate information and has introduced the Lexmark C920, providing a high level of security to protect corporate documents by offering hi-tech security features," says Adele Oosthuizen, Lexmark product manager, Axiz.
"The Lexmark W840 is a laser colour printer that features lightning-fast print speeds and on-screen graphics to assist in printing tasks. These features make the Lexmark W840 ideal for users that require rapid, production-level printing across a wide range of media."
The Lexmark C920 offers users security features that include solid transmission security, user-specific password controls, advanced printing lockout modes and expiration time programming. These features ensure confidential documents are stored in the printer and are easily released through the intuitive user interface and 10-digit numeric pad.
Printing up to 36ppm in monochrome and up to 32ppm in colour, the Lexmark C920 features 2400 image quality while its colour science technology provides an output suitable for simulated pre-press layouts or finished business materials. The Lexmark C920`s ease-of-use is backed by features such as a backlit user interface and graphics that coaches users through specific printing and maintenance functions. It also has a USB direct interface for PDF printing, enhanced serviceability and quicker problem resolution through on-screen messages. Businesses will also experience expanded control with the Lexmark C920`s spectrum of colour management tools, called Colour Care Technology. These tools allow authorised users only, identified by their network ID, to print in colour. The Lexmark C920 has a coverage estimator that enables users to estimate the cost of printing each colour page and features easy-to-understand graphics that walk users through common corrections.
"The Lexmark W840 is a monochrome A3 printer that offers versatility to customers who need speed, productivity and advanced document finishing for wide-format applications," says Oosthuizen.
Business disciplines, such as computer-aided design and manufacturing, will benefit the most from the Lexmark W840 as it provides exceptional quality, speed and durability.
Internet bookmark printing is also a standard feature of the Lexmark W840, which allows the printer to easily select and print documents such as benefit forms, training manuals and Web pages directly from the Internet, without having to use a computer. It can also be configured with a wide range of value-added capabilities such as drawers that can be added to raise the paper input capacity and an optional finisher. These finishers provide multi-position stapling, offset printing, duplexing and hole-punching.
