Axiz has announced the immediate availability of the HP dx2000 Business desktop. A simple, low-cost locally assembled PC providing businesses with the performance and quality they need for the most common computing requirements.

Built around PC technology from Intel and featuring industry-standard PC components, these compact yet upgradeable micro tower platforms take care of basic business computing requirements at an affordable price.

It features an Intel 865GV chipset, a choice of Celeron, Pentium 4 533MHz and Pentium 4 800MHz HyperThreading processors, 256Mb and 512Mb DDR memory (maximum 4GB) and 40/80GB 7200rpm hard drive options," comments Reeves.
Available with up-to-date operating systems from Microsoft: Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional. Those seeking a truly low cost business tool for simple and basic applications may want to utilise the feature-rich Mandrake Linux 9.2.
The compact form factor fits easily into any environment and features integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2, full multimedia capabilities (including built-in speakers) and integrated Intel PRO 100 network connection. Most systems are configured with a multimedia optical drive; choose from a basic CD-ROM drive or the latest DVD/CDRW combo drive.
Priced from R2 999, the HP dx2000 Business Desktop is available from Axiz from the first week of March 2004.
