Kingston memory customers dealing with official distributor Axiz will experience improved lead times and responses to queries as a result of a change in logistics.
"For the last ten years, Axiz has dealt with Kingston`s Californian head office," says Ian Rayner, Kingston brand manager at Axiz. "We have now taken the decision with Kingston to change the way we do business with them. From now on, we will be dealing with the UK office, which is very good news for our customers."
As the UK office is on approximately the same timeline as SA, Rayner anticipates that this move will result in better logistics and shorter lead times.
"Our relationship with Kingston in California has always been strong, but the time difference between us has occasionally complicated the logistics operation," he says. "We`re looking forward to dealing with the team in the UK as it means that queries and shipping can be dealt with in the same time frame."
"We are very pleased with the transition of our South African business to the UK. This change will be advantageous for both companies and we`ll be able to satisfy the needs of our South African customers even better," says Rob Ziegler, business development manager Africa at Kingston Technology.
In addition to this, the Kingston team at Axiz has been expanded to include additional logistics staff, and the appointment of a Kingston specialist in the Cape Town branch. "We are refocusing our service offering," says Rayner. "The concept of `value-add` needs to be tangible, and our customers will receive this in the form of improved logistics, lead times and higher service levels. This will result in benefits for both resellers and end-users."
