Danisa Baloyi has resigned from the boards of several listed companies, in order to deal with the fallout of the Fidentia scandal.
The winner of the 2003 Business Woman of the Year award has been linked to the scandal surrounding Fidentia, which has seen the company brought under curatorship and several managers charged with fraud.
Yesterday, Metrofile and Set Point Technology said Baloyi had stepped down from their boards.
News reports later in the day indicated Baloyi had issued a media statement in which she stated her intention to step down from all positions of responsibility while dealing with matters related to Fidentia.
Moneyweb has published the letter Baloyi sent to companies announcing her resignation.
In it Baloyi says: "Due to the sustained media attention on my person and qualifications, it has now become apparent that my contribution to the organisations that I serve cannot continue in the positive spirit I originally intended. I have, in the light of the above, decided to withdraw from all public engagements in order to dedicate all my energies to the challenges I face."
