Bandwidth control solution released
The first beta of the next generation of the uTorrent client is available and contains some useful upgrades that address how torrenting has changed in the past few years, writes CNET Download.
A transfer cap feature has been added, which will allow users who have cap-limited bandwidth to throttle down their torrenting habits and stay away from overage charges or having their service shut off. The feature offers graphs and shows upload and download usage by megabyte.
Most importantly, users are able to set it to shut down uTorrent once their limit has been hit. It's also configurable, so users can set it to turn off uTorrent by either upload limit, download limit, or both.
Epson unveils wireless range
As the rest of the world goes “wireless,” digital imaging specialist Epson has unveiled its range of wireless printing devices, beginning with the all-in-one Stylus TX550W, which is designed for home and small business users, states BusinessMirror.
The Stylus TX550W comes with wireless networking capability and offers users the option of using high-capacity INKdividual cartridges to lower the per page cost of printing. The new printer is designed to maximise productivity, Epson Philippines senior GM Eduardo Bonoan said.
Besides providing colour printing, copying and scanning functionality in a single compact unit, “the device is also equipped with wireless networking capability, allowing it to be shared among multiple users,” Bonoan said.
Confidela brings SaaS document control
Confidela has released WatchDox Pro and WatchDox Business, two updated applications for software-as-a-service, or SaaS, document control, tracking and protection, says eWeek.
The WatchDox application allows users to set controls for a document, such as an expiration date or a request to track whether the recipient views, prints or forwards the document in question onto someone else.
Once uploaded via HTTPS, the document is converted into a WatchDox format and e-mailed onto the recipient.
