Banks get secure online banking browser

browser that comes with its hardware USB tokens as a standalone application or the first time, the company has revealed, writes Tech World.

The new downloadable app offers a cheaper, simpler way for to deploy a secure client to online customers who then use it to set up an encrypted connection to the institution through IronKey's cloud-based Trusted Network service.

According to the company, this will change the focus of the platform from a single-point security control to an integrated approach that strengthens online security for banks and their customers, reports SC Magazine.

Its multiple layers of security combine secure browsing, authentication, analytics and management to reduce risk while simplifying operations.

Also included is a downloadable software client that creates secure banking sessions by insulating the connection between the client device and the banking site.

In addition, IronKey has also revealed its plans to extend the Trusted Access Platform with additional security controls including out-of-band authentication, smartphone applications and analytics, states CBR Online.

The company says with the new additions, banks will no longer need to integrate multiple vendors' tools or add new delivery methods.
