Barclays chooses compliance partner
Barclays Capital has selected OpenPages, a provider of enterprise governance, risk and compliance management (GRCM) solutions, for its governance, risk and compliance initiatives, according to a press release.
OpenPages will allow Barclay`s Capital to automate the ongoing test and review of its internal controls documentation in order to reduce the time and resource costs associated with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and similar international regulations.
Barclays Capital is the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, which has an AA long-term credit rating and a balance sheet of over lb986 billion.
BlackBerry security slated
At a recent DefCon hacker conference in Las Vegas, a security researcher demonstrated a technique called Blackjacking for exploiting the trust between a BlackBerry and the out-of-the-office executive, reports GCN.

The tool, BBProxy, uses Research in Motion`s encrypted tunnel between the handheld and its enterprise server to deliver exploits and avoid detection by perimeter security devices.
Las Vegas hosts IT infrastructure lifestyle conference
The Fourth Annual IT Infrastructure Management Conference and Expo - ITIM 2006, will be held between 5 and 8 November in Las Vegas, reports ITIM Association.
The conference aims to address all aspects of the IT infrastructure lifecycle from sourcing to acquiring, deploying, managing and monitoring and retiring IT assets.
