Barcode scanning and warehousing with Sage Pastel Evolution

Cradle Technology Services, a leader in warehouse and bar code scanning software and technology, today announced the release of version 2.5 of its popular Granite Warehouse Management System. The latest version adds a few extra pieces of functionality and some performance improvements, but more importantly, it adds seamless integration with Sage Pastel Evolution.

Granite WMS helps companies manage their warehouses through a lean, bar code driven warehouse execution and management system. Previously restricted to running as a standalone system or integrated to Sage Accpac (now Sage ERP 300), the Evolution integration dramatically expands the market for the already successful Granite WMS solution.

Two new implementations of the system, with Pastel Evolution integration, have been rolled out. These are at Paramount Mills in East London and at Priontex in Johannesburg. A third Pastel Evolution project is under way, with planned go-live at the end of March.

Craig Collins, CEO and Project Director at Cradle, comments: "Granite WMS, integrated with Sage Pastel Evolution, is the ideal system for medium-sized businesses to manage their warehouses and to cater for their complex and specific stock and warehousing requirements."

Craig Seymour, Sales Executive at Cradle, states: "Granite WMS is the the perfect product to sell. A large number of businesses run Pastel Evolution, but the warehouse needs bar code scanning, proper identification of products and traceability of boxes into physical locations. Granite for Evolution is the only solution they will ever need to run their warehouses efficiently and effectively. No challenge is too big or small for this powerhouse system."

Cradle Technology Services has also recently sold the solution to a UK warehousing operation and implementation is currently in progress. Collins says: "Granite WMS is rapidly showing that locally developed software, when developed by dedicated and passionate developers, is capable of competing on the global stage. We are proud of this first step offshore and look forward to further offshore exposure to the product."

Cradle Technology Services is a leader in providing barcode and RFID solutions and equipment in southern Africa. Cradle strives to provide its clients with a turnkey solution from design and management of a solution through to supply of software and hardware, consulting and implementation services and even bar code or RFID labels.

Global brands sold and supported by Cradle Technology include Intermec, Honeywell (with LXE), Zebra and Motorola.
