Bateleur Software Solutions has bridged the gap between back- and front-office systems, thereby addressing a critical issue for successful e-business initiatives.
This is according to June Julyan, product manager of Bateleur Software Solutions, who says the company is able to do this following the integration between Mobius Management Systems` ViewDirect and PeopleSoft 8. Bateleur is the authorised South African distributor for Mobius.
"The ViewDirect interface to PeopleSoft 8 provides Web access and automated distribution of output reports and other electronic documents associated with PeopleSoft applications," she says.
ViewDirect is Mobius`s integrated product suite for high-volume storage, high-speed indexed access and electronic distribution of enterprise content. PeopleSoft 8 is the latest, all-Internet version of PeopleSoft`s business solutions.
The integration interface is available for PeopleSoft Financial, Human Resource Management Systems and Student Administration applications. An interface to PeopleSoft 7.5 is also available.
"ViewDirect makes information about customers and products that is produced by enterprise resource planning systems from PeopleSoft and others available to customer service representatives or directly to customers over the Internet," Julyan explains.
"It captures and Web-enables the documents, reports and images that contain this information and pushes them out to customer-facing systems. In addition, it integrates PeopleSoft reports and documents with content generated by other enterprise applications, grouping items that have logical business associations regardless of source or format."
ViewDirect enhances PeopleSoft applications with comprehensive document archiving, viewing and distribution capabilities, giving employees, customers and partners rapid access to documents and reports associated with PeopleSoft systems as well as content generated by others applications. Both PeopleSoft and non-PeopleSoft users can search and access an integrated ViewDirect repository of current and historical documents, reports and images using a Web browser.
The PeopleSoft 8 integration interface features:
* Automatic Synchronisation - Selected information about PeopleSoft operators, classes, and security is automatically synchronised into ViewDirect, reducing administration costs, eliminating redundant administration activities, and resulting in faster deployment with fewer errors.
* Comprehensive Security Integration - A template-based implementation methodology allows for quick and tight integration with any level of customised PeopleSoft security, including multiple security fields and standard and custom security trees.
* Unified Single Sign-on - No separate login to the Mobius viewing clients is required; a logged on PeopleSoft user is automatically authenticated and may begin viewing the reports and documents they are permitted to access using a browser-based thin client.
ViewDirect supports documents in a wide range of formats including output from PeopleSoft Query, Crystal Reports, nVision, Excel and SQR; print-formatted documents, such as customer statements, created in PostScript, PCL, IBM AFP, Xerox DJDE/Metacode and others; and scanned images, such as cheques, correspondence and photographs.
