The local operation of Bay Networks, a Nortel Networks business unit, has awarded a major third party maintenance contract to black Empowerment Company, Synthesis Informatics.
The two companies have signed an initial one year contract by which Synthesis Informatics will install and maintain systems and solutions based on Bay Networks products.
This is a significant move that will provide the platform from which Bay Networks can expand its business to also meet the needs of small, medium and micro enterprises while maintaining its core business of networking equipment and solutions for large enterprises.
Synthesis Informatics will receive full support from Bay Networks, including training that will equip their staff with the additional skills in order to install and maintain Bay's products.
Synthesis aims to share and transfer skills and knowledge to help previously disadvantaged communities. This will help the communities gain access to basic and advanced technology services, which will ultimately enable them to participate in and contribute to the economic development to SA.
