BB&T offers mobile services

BB&T corporation has partnered with two California-based mobile and payment providers to offer improved mobile banking services, says CNNMoney.com.

BB&T is the first of a newly-formed partnership between ClairMail and mFoundry.

The company`s three-phase roll-out of the new is set to begin next month. It is expected to be completed in the first quarter when a new selection of mobile banking services will be available.

HSBC unveils global services

HSBC India has revealed its global personal banking service, through which its premier category customers will be able to take their account with them to one of 35 countries, says Hindustan Times.

The facility offers cross-border banking facilities, including taking their bank account, credit history and banking relationships virtually with them.

The customers under the category can avail the same facilities in all the 35 countries, which will be expanded in due course. Credit card and wealth management services are part of the services on offer.

Countrywide uses Virtual Hold

Countrywide Bank is using Virtual Hold for its customers and call centres, says CNNMoney.

With this new technology, the bank`s customers are no longer required to wait on hold. Virtual Hold allows them to hang up and saves their place in the telephone queue, calling them back when a representative is available.

Virtual Hold also provides relief to contact centres during peak call volumes. Countrywide Bank recently experienced its largest call volume in history.
