BCS showcases business vision of IP communications at Futurex

BCS uses Futurex as platform to highlight IP in the enterprise as a business case
Johannesburg, 13 May 2005

Communications specialist Bytes Communications Systems (BCS) will use the Futurex platform as a means to highlight why 75% of multi-site businesses globally are migrating to an IP business environment.

Customers attending the exhibition will have the opportunity to view the vision of IP in a truly converged networking and communications environment. As a local partner of Alcatel, BCS has access to some of the world`s leading technologies and business methodologies in and around IP communications.

Says Richard Menton, Regional Sales Manager at BCS: "Introducing IP into your communications network can only be successful if you clearly define the exact needs for it. That said, we are seeing a global trend amongst customers for business and technology solutions which generate profit and build a competitive advantage through the application of IP.

"Within this strategy lies the need to better understand the customer, your employees and your own need for technology solutions. We are finally nearing an era where unified communications is becoming a reality through the convergence of devices, the human element and the network."

While technology still forms the building blocks of a successful communications solution, it no longer forms the heart thereof, as intelligent software and management solutions are able to dynamically integrate with business processes.

Menton adds that BCS will use the Futurex exhibition as a platform to talk to customers and educate them on how the effective deployment of technology can assist them in reaping a real return on their IP investment.

"In our experience people like to be walked through the process, and while we can all name the products which can assist us in reaching IP utopia, people want to see how they can best apply applications and systems and adapt these to their own needs," adds Menton.

Some of the key issues BCS will cover with clients at the Futurex show include: how quickly technology can be deployed, how can I use IP to build a smart operation, what is the total economic value and the attached returns and costs of a new solution, and the business vision for IP.

"Customers are tired of hearing about VOIP, and systems integrators and service providers in this country now have a duty to start talking about the true benefits of IP in a business communications environment," ends Menton.

BCS can be found at Futurex in Hall 1 number 5 - 8.
